Fully-black-box reduction · standard model · GGH96 · security loss: Tight: one call to the collision finder, Advcr≤Advsis.
Statement
For m>nlogq and β≥m, if SIS is hard for (n,m,q,β), then {fA:{0,1}m→Zqn,z↦Azmodq}, keyed by uniform A∈Zqn×m, is a compressing collision-resistant hash function family — GGH96.
Sketch
A collision z=z′ gives A(z−z′)=0(modq) with z−z′∈{−1,0,1}m nonzero, a SIS solution of Euclidean norm at most m≤β. The reduction runs the collision finder once on A and outputs the difference.
Notes
The family {fA} and its one-wayness are due to Ajt96.
Efficiency: the key A has nmlogq bits and evaluation costs O(nm) additions modulo q, since z is binary; over ideal lattices the key shrinks to O~(m) bits — LM06.
