Merkle puzzles

Merkle’s Puzzles is a key-agreement protocol in the random oracle model in which the honest parties make $O(n)$ oracle queries and any eavesdropper needs $\Omega (n^2)$ queries to recover the key — Mer78. The quadratic gap is optimal — BM09.
